Infinity Knot Free Quilt Pattern

I've received my latest Quilty Box filled with fun gear and decided to design a throw sized quilt with the precut 2 1/2 inch strips included in the box. I love the high contrast of black and white strips so I designed the quilt to use these strips to create a bold design:

Watch how to create this throw sized quilt in this new video:

Materials

- Kona Cotton Roll Up of precut 2 1/2 inch strips in white and black
- 1 yard background fabric
- White thread for piecing

Fabric Preparation

For best results, starch and press all precut fabrics so they are easier to handle. Prewash, starch, and press the background fabric.

Cutting

From the background fabric cut 2 - 10 1/2 inch squares and 2 - 20 1/2 inch squares. Note: If it's challenging for you to cut the larger background squares, you can cut 8 - 10 1/2 inch squares instead.

From the precut strips cut the following pieces for the Corner Log Cabin Units:

Black Fabric

6 - 2 1/2 inch squares
6 - 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 rectangles
6 - 2 1/2 x 6 1/2 rectangles
6 - 2 1/2 x 8 1/2 rectangles
6 - 2 1/2 x 10 1/2 rectangles

 White Fabric

6 - 2 1/2 inch squares
6 - 2 1/2 x 4 1/2 rectangles
6 - 2 1/2 x 6 1/2 rectangles
6 - 2 1/2 x 8 1/2 rectangles

Piecing the Corner Log Cabin Blocks

Following the instructions in the video to arrange and piece 6 Corner Log Cabin blocks.

Piecing the Stripe Blocks

Piece three long black strips and two long white strips together to form a 10 1/2 inch wide strip set. Repeat two more times to create three strip sets. Carefully press all seam allowances open.

Slice the strips into 9 - 10 1/2 inch blocks.
