Baste Your Quilts Faster and Easier with the Quilt Basting Kit!
Ask any number of quilters what their least favorite part of quilting is and it's usually quilt basting - the process of layering the quilt top, batting, and backing fabric and securing them together before quilting.
It's time to take the bummer out of quilt basting! Secure your quilts quickly using sturdy straight pins and Pinmoor Pin Anchors.
This Quilt Basting Kit comes with:
100 Magic Longarm Pins - These long, sturdy pins are a great choice for basting quilts. Add a bend to the middle of the pin to make them easy to insert and secure your quilt sandwiches together.
100 Pack of Pinmoors - These specially designed pin anchors are self healing so no matter how many times you insert pins into the end while quilt basting, they will hold tight and secure. The bright colors and shape are easy to see and handle, even if you have difficulty with your hands.

Note: We've switched from flower head pins to Magic Longarm Pins because they are thicker, sturdier and the rubber heads never fall off.
How Many Quilt Basting Kits will You Need?
This Quilt Basting Kit comes with 100 Pinmoor Pin Anchors and 100 Magic Longarm Pins. This amount will easily cover a small baby quilt (45" x 60") with the pins placed around 4-6 inches apart.
For the average full to queen-size quilt, you will need four Quilt Basting Kits.
The great news is once you build a collection of Pinmoors and Magic Pins, they never go bad or wear out! These are sturdy tools you can use over and over for years to come.
I keep my basting pins and Pinmoors in empty Talenti gelato containers so I can see their pretty colors and know how many I have on hand for basting!

How to Use the Quilt Basting Kit
1. Slightly bend the pin so it's easy to insert through the layers of your quilt. You will need to put some pressure on the Magic Pins because they are so sturdy to get them to bend.

2. Insert the pin into your quilt through all the layers, then back up again to the top. Insert pins starting in the middle of your quilt and space them 4-5 inches apart.
3. Cap then end of the pin with a Pinmoor Pin Anchor. Push the pin stopper over the sharp end of the straight pin to secure it in place.

While you are quilting, pull on the grippy, rubber head of the Magic Pin and the Pinmoor will slide off. Toss both in a storage container and keep on quilting. Use a magnetic pincushion to separate the basting pins from the Pinmoors and store them until you're ready to baste your next quilt.

Why Is This Quilt Basting Method So Much Easier?
Using straight pins is easier! Bent safety pins are much harder to open and close, and harder on your hands in general.
Capping the straight pins with Pinmoors takes care of all the sharp points. The special silicone material in the Pinmoor is self-healing so no matter how many times you use them, the Pinmoors will grip the pins and hold tight.
Removing the pins and Pinmoors is much easier too. The bright colors of the Pinmoors stand out so you see them clearly on the quilt surface.
And lastly, this method adds no additional chemicals to your quilts or your sewing room. If you'd like to go basting spray free, this Quilt Basting Kit is for you!
