Q: Will this work with my sewing machine? A: The Hummingbird works with most domestic sewing machines that have up to 14" throat space. It's designed to be universally compatible.

Q: How much space do I need? A: You need a sturdy surface at least 27" x 51". The compact design fits comfortably in most sewing spaces.

Q: Is it difficult to set up? A: Not at all! The Hummingbird was designed for simple, stress-free assembly with fewer parts and clear instructions.

Q: Can I quilt large quilts on this? A: Yes! The zone quilting method allows you to work on quilts of any size, section by section.

Q: Do you have to baste your quilt before attaching to the Hummingbird Hoop? A: Yes. The three layers of your quilt (top, batting, and backing) have to be layered flat together and pinned across the top and bottom edges. The middle of the quilt does not need to be pinned like traditional quilt basting for quilting on a home machine, but the layers of the quilt do need to be evenly spread out and flat.

Please keep this in mind if space is a serious issue for you. You will still need the space to arrange the three layers of your quilt flat on a table or the floor, find the midpoints, and pin across the top and bottom edges of the batting and quilt top. I do this by pinning on a wall!
