Jelly Town - Perfect Beginner Baby Quilt

Jelly Town is one of the fastest and easiest to quilt projects in the book Explore Walking Foot Quilting with Leah Day. It's the perfect baby quilt to make if you're a beginning quilter or if you're needing a baby quilt in a big hurry!

Jelly Town Walking Foot Quilted Baby Quilt

Jelly Town Baby Quilt
Finished Size: 42 x 42 inches

The best part of this easy baby quilt is it uses 1 pack of precut strips (Jelly Roll, Roll Up, etc). I love designing for precuts because so much of the work is done for you and you can get straight to piecing your quilt top.

While making this quilt, you'll learn how to cut and piece a modified Log Cabin quilt block. This quilt is created with just four super-sized blocks, so it's going to come together super fast!

After the top is complete, follow the instructions in the book for piecing the backing fabric, then how to quilt it in less than a day with an awesome walking foot quilting design, Super Spiral.

You know what's neat about Super Spiral? This is a design that actually works faster and easier with walking foot quilting because you can use the edge of your walking foot as a guide.

Follow along and make your own Jelly Town Baby Quilt! If you make this quilt, please contact us and send in a picture so we can add it here to this page.

Check out the other quilts included in the book Explore Walking Foot Quilting with Leah Day. All of these quilts were specifically designed to machine quilt on a home machine with a walking foot:

Two questions for you. What machine are you using? I’m about to upgrade my machine and would like one that I can top quilt on. Secondly, my rainbow lover picked this quilt for his twin bed. Does your pattern include larger sizes?

Victoria Meade,

Leah, I’m making the Jelly Town quilt in black and white, as a wall hanging. What do you recommend for the quilting? Should I still quilt it with Super Spiral? Black or white thread?

Sue ,

Hi Michelle – I believe this was a Kona Cotton Brights jelly roll. It was a pack of solid, bright colors!

Leah Day,

Thank you Debora! Yes, getting a longarm is definitely overwhelming. I’m so glad to be able to help you learn how to use your new machine!

Leah Day,

I watching your video’s and got The 15r and Q-Zone Frame because of you. I have told everyone your name. But getting my first ever Longarm it is a Little Overwhelming. I sew for cancer patients at my local hospital and for charities. Thank you again please Help Us Beginners Debbie

Debora Axon,

Do you know the name of the jelly roll used, and where to get it , for the Jelly Town Baby Quilt? I have 3 grand babies on the way!
