Welcome to the Leaf Peepers Quilt Along!
This beautiful quilt pattern was designed by Sheri Cilfaldi-Morrill from Whole Circle Studio and is a terrific skill builder for traditional piecing and quilting techniques. You'll learn two methods for piecing half square triangles, how to piece quarter square triangles, and how to machine quilt with three types of quilting: walking foot, free motion, and ruler foot quilting.
For this autumn themed quilt you can choose to create a 40-inch square wall hanging or a 24 x 74-inch table runner. I can't wait to use this beautiful table runner and enjoy these bright colors through the fall season.

Hi Tina – There were a few corrections to the pattern after it was released. Check the bottom of this page to find the list: https://leahday.com/products/leaf-peepers-quilt-pattern
Hi Leah,
I’ve just started putting my leaf Peepers together and think there may be a typo in the instructions for block 3. On point 3, there is a list of fabrics to put together for the HSTs; there isn’t a F/G listed which is needed for point 4. I followed point 3 thinking points 4 and 5 may be incorrect but when I put it together it was clear that 4 and 5 were correct so I had to make another.
Hope this makes sense, just thought I’d point it out. Loving putting it all together and can’t wait to start quilting!
All the best Tina x
Hi Patti – I’ve updated the page for the Leaf Peepers Fat Quarters with an image to help you see which yellow is which! Find it here: https://leahday.com/products/leaf-peepers-fat-quarter-pack
I bought the batik pack and am starting to cut but am struggling with which yellow is which. Any hints?
Hi Peggy – You’re welcome to share to Instagram and tag Sheri and I if you have an account. You can also post your picture online to Facebook or Pinterest and send us a link. Basically – whatever works for you!
I can’t seem to find the link to post our finished blocks. I thought I remember reading something about that.
That’s great Bonnie! All you need to do is pick up a copy of the quilt pattern linked above and you’ll be good to go!
I’d like to join this quilt-along. Thank you.
Great question Alice! Sheri will be teaching walking foot quilting. I’m going to share free motion quilting and ruler foot quilting, but you could also take my design ideas, mark the lines on the quilt, and quilt with a walking foot instead. So please understand there’s many different ways you can quilt the Leaf Peepers Quilt!
Thanks for your speedy reply. Will you be talking about using your walking foot instead?
Hi Alice – The rulers are optional and you only need them if you want to try ruler foot quilting on the Leaf Peepers Quilt. You can also do walking foot quilting or regular free motion quilting instead. If you do decide to use the rulers, yes, you will need a ruler foot to fit your machine.
What do not have a basic ruler kit. Do I have to buy one, thus I would need a new part for my sewing machine. Thank you Alice
